Introducing Magical Anjali
[May 2006]

Hello there and welcome to the website
I must apologise for not updating the website on a regular basis and leaving
you all in want of and desperate desire for Anjali info.
Well, I'll give you a quick synopsis of what I've been up to - and don't forget
to check out spykid's
updated page while you are here.
I spent some of last year in India and a sadhu (an Indian holy man with wild
hair) from Mount Kailash christened me with a new name, Magical Anjali. Hence
my new doodle and logo.
I had the most incredible time and have gathered some special esoteric experiences
that have been thrown into my opaque world of beats and juju.
I also spent some time writing music specifically for adverts...an interesting
experience - more of this later and listen out, as I'll be putting some short
pieces of new music on the site very soon.
Considering that I'm actually a techno-luddite-phobe, I actually think that
I have latent geek tendencies, I upgraded my software to Logic Pro 7!
When I was in the Voodoo Queens, Ella used to have to change the guitar strings
when I broke one on stage since I would get all flustered and end up snapping
them from twisting them pegs so hard...and here I am now, from my atonal punk
days to getting to grips with space-age technology!
I got Logic Pro and then sat there looking at the box in fear for three days
while chain-eating Galaxy Ripples. All my new songs have been transferred and
I've got nine songs that I'm tweakin' and squeakin' and they are sounding freakin'!
I will be looking to mix them down soon, though I can't give a date as to when
they will be ready for human ears since I'm looking for a studio to mix in at
present...Be patient my magical ones...good spells take time to brew and I'll
have a cup of Earl Grey while I'm waiting...
*Check out the new short film by independent director, Korey Coleman. He is
a Texas-based director whose previous work includes animation and illustration.
The film is titled "2 AM" and is showing at the South by Southwest
Film Festival in Austin, Texas, between 10-18 March. Why? Well, for the more
astute amongst you, you should notice a renowned Anjali track on there…
