"Mutiny" Rocks London....October ?2004.

?

The Asian Underground Glitteratti were out in style at the UGC Cinema in Shaftsbury Avenue on Sat the 2nd of Oct as the Film / documentary Mutiny.......(which was part of the Raindance film festival) came to London for a sold out screening! ? The aftershow party at the Opal lounge in Swallow Street was FANTASTIC. Some incredibly cool sets were played by Anjali, Asian Dub Foundation, Bobby Friction and Choq (amongst many?other talented spinners)...... with some jawdropping MC action from members of ADF.
It seemed like the ghosts of the legendary Hoxton Blue Note had materialised and came back to haunt us with corrupt tunes and much explosion on the dance floor!

?

look out for more screening dates....

updated 18 August 2004

Miracle Anjali will be taking a short break from writing duties and will be treating some lucky people to her dj box of treats and teasers.

Anjali will be djing in Prague on Thursday the 14th of October (venue tba).

This will be coinciding with the screening of a documentary made by the well respected New York film maker, Mr. Vivek Bald... "Asians Storm British Music.....MUTINY" ...

"This film combines music documentary and social documentary and is an engaging look at the meteroric rise of Asian music in 1990's Britain, set against the decades of cultural and political struggle that led up to that historic moment....." www.mutinysounds.com

This film was shot independently on digital video over the course of 7 years and has been screened across the globe at International film festivals from Melborne to Helsinki.

The film will be screening on Friday the 15th of October (venue tba) and Anjali will be introducing the film and answering Q & A after the screening.
